Description

Jesus Calling is your yearlong guide to living a more peaceful life. The Jesus Calling App is the mobile version of the time-tested classic packed with digital and audio features that make this daily devotional more accessible than ever.

Experience a deeper relationship with Jesus as you savor the presence of the One who understands you perfectly and loves you forever. With Scripture and personal reflections, New York Times bestselling author Sarah Young brings Jesus' message of peace—for today and every day.

By spending time in the presence of the Savior with the much-loved devotions from Sarah Young, you will:

• Feel comforted by a daily word of hope and encouragement
• Be reassured of Jesus' unending blessings and love for you
• Receive gentle guidance based on daily Scripture readings
• Connect with Jesus further with reflection and meditation based on God’s Word

Written as if Jesus Himself is speaking directly to you, Jesus Calling invites you to experience peace in the presence of the Savior who is always with you.

These writings are personal reflections based on Jesus’ own words of hope, guidance, and peace within Scripture—penned by one who loved Him and revered His Word. The Bible is the only infallible, inerrant Word of God, and author Sarah Young kept her writings consistent with that unchanging standard during her lifetime. She wrote from the perspective of Jesus speaking, to help readers feel more personally connected with Him. So, the first person singular (“I,” “Me,” “My,” “Mine”) always refers to Christ; “you” refers to you, the reader.

Disappointed

I am so grateful that God has blessed those who can share devotion with his word that God gives us freely. I paid for this app when it first came out and now I can’t enjoy it because now I have to sign up to pay a monthly fee even the Bible project and you version is free, and they take one offerings of donations. Even the daughters of the king is free, and here you have a woman who I watched and listen to her reasoning for writing this book, her purpose, but I didn’t know God had put it in her to revamp it to make more money a different kind of way off his word that God ABBA Father gives freely. I am so disappointed. I wasted 10 bucks on this when it first came out and now I got to pay a fee, if you are a person who believes in God and you know, God will supply all your needs and you don’t have to make money off of what God gives to us freely. I’m disappointed in the creators of Jesus Calling for doing this. I don’t see where Jesus and God is in this I see that is the hand of man very disappointing. I truly enjoyed having this devotion and now, when I go to download it back on my other devices, I’m seeing I have to pay a fee for something I paid for already. This is sad. This is not of God. This is a man.

God talking

My wife and I read Jesus Calling together almost every evening before we retire. We love the way the thoughts are directed as from Jesus himself. We have faced many difficulties in the last six months. It is usually before bed that we discuss our conundrums, trying to make sense of them and find some hope.
I cannot tell you how many times after we discuss these problems and finding no solution, the old frustration races it’s ugly head and steals our peace. It is then that I usually open up Jesus Calling and read it out loud. God often directly answers or addresses our conversation, foolish doubt, and unbelief. He speaks straight to our dilemma as and tells us what we need to hear. The scriptures included with the devotion, almost without fail, confirm what God has said to us through the devotion. We were particularly seeking God’s peace at the start of this new year. So many times God addressed that topic in incredibly relevant ways, confirming what he had been teaching us.
Almost every evening we can’t wait to open it up again and see how the Lord speaks to us that day.
I can’t recommend it enough.

Updates have ruined the app for me

Jesus Calling has brought me peace and calm over the years. I’ve enjoyed reading the daily devotionals every morning. Up until the forcing of premium into readers. After purchasing the app, which is the same 365 readings every year, I thought the procurement was finished. Fast forward several years and now Premium seems to be the only way to move around to different readings. I used to be able to revisit “favorites” and readings that moved me. Now, after a slew of updates, I can’t get past January 1st without having to purchase the recurring premium package. There have been many updates since the release of the premium option. Each update has had a different impact. The most recent says “to make the daily reading button more intuitive” and yet when you hit it your taken to 1 January and no way to get to the current day. It’s unfortunate that what started out as something to bring peace and joy in people’s lives through the reflections of daily passages, has now become more about increasing bottom line revenue. Before premium this would have been 5 stars. Now I give it 2. If it hadn’t been for the impact the readings have had over the years I’d make it a 1 due to all the glitches from the updates and the forcing of premium on those who just want to enjoy all the readings
